Bengkung Belly Binding
Benkung is a form of belly binding that is performed after childbirth for better recovery. It is a long fabric that is tied around the woman from the hips to the chest to physically support the woman's pelvis, abdomen and lower back.
Bengkung is originally from Malaysia, but many different cultures around the world use different ways to bind the belly after childbirth to support and speed up the recovery of the new mother.

What is bengkung good for?
-
Wearing a bengkung supports woman's back, which is delicate after pregnancy and childbirth and helps maintain correct posture, which can slouch when breastfeeding and carrying a baby.
-
Supports the natural recovery of the abdominal area - hand-tied knots are placed exactly on the midline of the abdomen, where there can be a diastasis, which the ties helps to gently push together
-
Supports the entire abdomen from the pubic bone to the ribcage, thereby reducing the weight and strain on the lower back
-
Helps take the weight off the pelvic floor muscles so they can recover after childbirth
-
Supports hips that may be tender and dislocated from childbirth
-
Helps to return displaced organs to their original places
-
Fits exactly according to the body, i.e. when the stomach becomes smaller, there is no need to buy a new bandage, but only one sheet is enough during the entire recovery
*In the case of a vaginal birth, you could start binding a few days after the birth.
**In the case of a cesarean birth you can start when the caesarean section is no longer painful, usually a month after delivery.
